“He planted more than gardens — he planted patience in everyone around him.”
Thomas Ashby tended a public garden for thirty-five years and a family for longer. He rose with the birds, gave cuttings to strangers, and believed anything could grow with a little care and a lot of time. He is survived by his wife, three children, and a hillside of trees he put in the ground with his own hands.
